LockPos, the new point-of-sale malware actively spreading in the wild.
For those of you who have super markets, markets, restaurants, liquor stores or any sort of store that depends on a Point of Sale software on a Windows Operating system such Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 10 and have not installed an Anti Virus or an Anti Malware software, beware.
Once the computer is compromised, the malware copies its own executable file to %Allusersprofile%\Application Data\ folder With Random name and then injects Explorer.exe to collects information from target system.
In other words, the Trojan collects Credit Card information from your Point of Sale software and sends it to the hackers.
Legally you need to secure every computer that has point of sale software installed with some sort of security either on the Gateway with anti-virus software or on the computer which point of sale software is installed.
Purchase and install a full version of an Anti-Virus or an Anti Malware Program and let it update automatically and run in the background, also make sure after installation, it is configured correctly to find and delete Malware, Viruses, Trojans, Rootkits and Ransomware. Some of the best Antivirus Products I’ve used on my computers and my clients computers are as follow:
